We again need your help this year with our 31st annual Christmas Classic, which we believe, is the biggest bake sale anywhere and a great tradition in our community. It brings so many people together who help a great cause helping our Parents Club raise money to do all those beautiful projects that benefit our children and school. It is the largest fundraiser for our Parents Club which uses the funds to help teachers in the classroom.
As we make almost 1000 poticas, over 130 butter rings, thousands of Kiffles, we humbly ask for help such as helping us bake, donating your time, giving us financial support, providing lunch for our workers on Thursday or Friday. Any help is so much appreciated. AS THIS IS SUCH A HUGE PROJECT – WE NEED BOTH LADIES AND GENTLEMEN to help!!!!! We could not do this project without your continuous help. Ann Brown and the bake sale committee have managed the bake sales for our parish for more than 40 years, and our angels in heaven pray that you, our angels on earth, will fill their places.
So if you have never helped before, we welcome you and will gladly train you. It is gratifying and uplifting to work hard with a kind and generous people who give so much of themselves to help. We have jobs for every capability—rolling, standing, sitting.
We need help on all days in the high school cafeteria.
Monday, Nov. 26, 8:00 a.m.
We will start making Kiffles. We will be rolling, baking and packaging them. We need many, many helpers and gentlemen are much appreciated as our ladies will often tell you.
Thursday, Nov.29 and Friday, Nov. 30, 8:00 a.m.
We start rolling out the poticas until almost noon. We bake them all day and around 2:00 p.m., we start wrapping them.
Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7:00 a.m.
We make the butter rings. We start frosting the butter rings around 9:00 a.m. so they are sold fresh out of the oven.
As this is such a huge sale, we need many other baked goods, so we have a good variety. If you, your family or friends would like to donate one of your favorite recipes, we would be so grateful. We ask you to help us by packaging your baked goods. We would love to accept them from you starting on Friday, Nov. 30.
Our baked goods make lovely gifts. The poticas freeze well for almost a year and make wonderful host gifts so stock up. (We tend to sell out of poticas and Kiffle so please order or come early). I use organic flour and the freshest and best ingredients. In spite of rising costs, we have not increased prices in a few years.
Please tell all your friends to come to this special event. Let the Children’s Choirs and musical instruments delight you with Holiday music and put you in the Christmas spirit! We ask for your support with humility and appreciation; We thank you for your help.
